Donna made these two oriental panel quilts for friends of hers and they were quite beautiful. For one she used the Yoyo panto and for the other she used Ebb and Flow.
This one was made for her granddaughterwho loves purple and pink. We chose a terrific variegated purple thread and the panto called Meander-2.
Whate a great pattern for a black and white fabric stash. It has lots of texture in the fabrics that definitely work well together. The panto used was Swirling.
Very modern with some fabulous large and small prints in this scrappy quilt. Everyone who saw this quilt loved it. Perfect for a young girl. Swirling was the panto of choice.
These table toppers are exquisite. Judi bought them as kits from Quilters Paradise (www.quiltersparadiseesc.com) in Escondido, CA where they specialize in making precut applique kits. I used free motion work in the background, stitch-in-the-ditch around the borders and a beautiful holly leaf design in the borders.

This is a full picture of the quilt that Beverly made for her grandson. I bet he is going to love it!

I remember when Angela bought the kit for this Triple Irish Chain quilt. The fabrics were absolutely gorgeous but with a finished size of 95" x 118" I knew she had quite a bit of work to put into it. And her piecing was truly wonderful--a long arm quilter's dream. It is such an elegant quilt! I still have yet to get her pillow shams quilted, but I will in the near future.

The perfect manly quilt! Nicely done, Jackie.
A close-up of the ever popular Tea Rose panto.
Every Thursday, in Escondido, a group of wonderful ladies meet, socialize, and sew on quilts. They are so thoughtful, that even though I go to see them every Thursday but do not stay to sew, they have included me as one of their members. The blocks for this quilt were made by all of the ladies, assembled into a quilt, and given to a member in the group who was going through some serious medical tests. Rochelle who is pictured was the one who sewed on the mitered border (and did a masterful job of it!)
A close-up of Tropical Leaves-4 on Marjorie's quilt.
I am a great fan of panel quilts, partly because I don't have much time for piecing and even I can get a panel quilt done. I also think panel quilts are a terrific way to make some of the cutest quilts as Marjorie has done with her quilt!
Another close-up of Meander-2 on Shirley's table runners.
A close-up of Meander-2 on Shirley's teacup table runner.
Two terrific table runners pieced by Shirley! I loved the colors in both of them. The teacup quilt makes me want to make one myself since I also have teacup fabric. The meander is a wonderful way to let the piecing, pattern, and fabric take center stage of a quilt.
A close-up of one of my favorite pantos--Butterfly Charms.

The pictured quilt was made by my wife, incorporating various patches I had accumulated over my 20+ years in Naval aviation. The text below provides some amplification on each of the patches.

After several tests, interviews and processing, Al is sworn into the Naval Aviation Officer Program on 2 July 1968 at Naval Air Station Los Alamitos. What a change of lifestyle for the newly married young Krauses. Only six months after the wedding, I leave Patty for Pensacola. On 19 August 1968, Al takes headed for Pensacola, Florida. He arrives at Naval Air Station Pensacola, reporting for duty and instruction at the Naval Aviation Schools Command (Row 1, Patch 1).

The first two weeksâ

The Crosses the Line pattern is from a book called "Take 5--Quilts from Just 5 Fabrics" by Kathy Brown.
Another beautiful quilt by Angela, but another mistake by me. This was the second time in one day that I forgot to take a close-up of the quilt to show off the panto. I must have left my brain in bed that morning! The quilt pattern is called Watermelon Picnic and is from a book entitled The Best of Black Mountain Quilts by Teri Christopherson.

Hallelujah! Rochelle is back to piecing quilts again and also getting some of her finished ones long-arm quilted. Her quilts have long been favorites of mine--not just because they are beautiful but also because she is such a fine piecer.
A close-up view of Falling Leaves.
Pat has been a quilt teacher for many years and has taught countless others how to quilt. This is one of her beautiful fall colors quilt.
Susan's daughter is graciously holding up the quilt while I took the picture. This is a custom quilt that is stitched in the ditch around the blocks and triangles. I also quilted in a grape leaf border pattern in the last border.
A close-up of this custom-quilted baby quilt.
Margo is holding up her butterfly quilt. She is an expert machine embroiderer as you can see by the beautifully embroidered flowers and butterflies.
A view of the Swirling panto up close.
I decided to call this Rochelle's Swirls quilt because she chose the elegant Swirling panto. The quilt looks fabulous.
Sherri has the patience of Job. I am sure I could not have pieced all those wavy pieces together without going crazy. The quilt is a real beauty!

Rochelle got this elephant themed fabric from a friend a long time ago. She made a stunning quilt with the fabric!
A close-up view of the Trumpet Vine panto.
I can over how many triangles Leah had to make for this quilt. The block is called Lady of the Lake. Someday I will make a very small quilt using this block. I even have my own fabrics picked out for it! Leah did such a fabulous job of this very large quilt!
A close-up view of the Meander-2 panto.
Brenda wanted to make a large floral quilt for her guest room. She got out all her floral scraps which resulted in this beauty. It is one of the largest quilts that I have quilted!
A close-up view of the Stars and Loops panto.
Lois and her husband were going on a trip to see some close friends and she made them this quilt. Lois did an exquisite job of the piecing and it turned out beautifully!

A close-up of Lorien Flowers as seen on the back side of Pat's quilt.
A great panel surrounded by a terrific border!
Cynthia used a shiny polyester fabric for the backing and Vickie's Feathers looks stunning on it.
Cynthia's quilt was so large that I did not have a wall big enough to show it off in its full size. It is beautiful on the display rack but is even more so when you can get a look at the whole quilt!
This was totally a custom quilt. I stitched in the ditch around the kids and letters. Then I put the ABC's in the white blocks in the inner border. I used a large ABC border design for the last border. I finished by stippling in the background areas.
A close-up of Bubbleplay on Marianne's quilt.

This was a very large quilt so I was only able to show one fourth of it in the picture but it was fabulous!
This is a really large quilt. It measured 132" in length! She chose the ocean tides for her block centers. Just terrific!
A close-up of Meander-2.
This is a wonderful way to use up all those beautiful scraps we love.
A close-up of Trip to New England.
The picture I took does not do justice to this quilt. It is truly stunning. Judy took the bold step of choosing the rich rust fabric for her background fabric instead of the usual white color and it really makes the quilt so gorgeous!

Classy and classic!

A close-up of Cloud Nine as seen on the backside of the quilt.
Pat made this quilt for her granddaughter who wanted Pat to make her a rainbow quilt. Pat did a lot of fussy-cutting to piece this just the way she liked. You can see from the picture that her granddaughter was really happy with it and I know she was very appreciative!
A close-up of the meandering on Gracie's quilt.
I've mentioned it before, but Gracie has a real knack for finding and buying wonderful quilt kits. Gracie loves to garden, as do I, although she has much more success at it than I do. I think I should just stick to making a "seed packet quilt" as beautiful as this and forget the actual gardening!
I always say that a panel quilt not only makes a wonderful quilt but it also makes a quick quilt. Pat pieced the quilt quickly for a gift and I used the Curlz panto to quilt it.

This picture does not show as well as I'd like just how gorgeous it really is! Stunning quilt!
A close-up of the beautiful panto Swirling.
Kathy came out to visit her mother, Rochelle, just before Christmas. While she was here she made 4 quilts! Rochelle has been teaching her how to quilt and I consider Rochelle to be a master quilter so Kathy couldn't learn from anybody better!
A close-up of the panto Toasting as seen from the back. Brenda put Minkee on the back and the panto looks lovely on it!
Brenda made this wine-themed quilt for her son. What a great idea and what great fabrics!

Here is Kathy with her mother, Rochelle! Two positively wonderful people in front of a positively gorgeous quilt!
A close-up of the meandering on Pat' quilt.
Pat has made several quilts with this quilt pattern. It is a terrific pattern because it only takes two fabrics to make it. I loved the ice cream and pop sickle them fabric!
A close-up of Dancing Hearts.
Judy is holding up her quilt so that I could take the picture. I wish I had done a better job of taking the picture because it was such a cute quilt.
A close-up of the meandering on Peggy's quilt.
This is another quilt that I wish you could view in its entirety. It is really beautiful!
Leah gave me 7 small quilts to quilt. This one was done with free motion meandering and with echo quilting around the chicken.
Often Leah uses an antique quilt as an inspiration for creating her own quilts.
I particularly loved this quilt because of the vivid colors!
The Trumpet Vine panto looks wonderful on this lovely quilt.
Leah carefully cut out the center blocks that each feature a small figure. I thinks this quilt is fabulous!

Amazingly Marie used 38 fat quarters in this quilt! This is a true classic and treasure!

A close-up of Swirling.
This quilt is beyond stunning! I can't get over how beautiful it is. Marsha chose this Judy Martin quilt pattern and it is done in all batiks. I wish she would have forgotten to come pick up this quilt and just left it here. But she made it for her sister. My loss and her gain!
This quilt was just too big to show it in its entirety. Judy chose gorgeous fabrics for this quilt.
A close-up of the quilting on Rosemary's quilt.
There is a lot of intricate piecing in this quilt and Rosemary did a masterful job on it. I wish I had taken a picture of the back of the quilt because the panto shows up really well on the Minkee.

Pat teaches quilting classes. She is teaching this star sampler in her classes this year.
